Yo-Yoing would be good.

I don't see any evidence that this is where we are at.

mini _dariusz To put it in simple terms, the achievements RFC made during the 2005/2006 and 06/07 seasons won't be bettered. Therefore you are living in hope of seeibng something not as good as you have already witnessed.

Dead end club, like every other yo yo club.........

If that's your attitude go and support someone like Chelsea or ManUtd - where were you when we were in Div2 etc.? Dead-end club?! We've had the most amazing success over the last 3 seasons - and this season we might have to get used to other doing better than us. So what? We're financially very sound, we've got a good academy, with players starting to come through, we've got a great stadium, just shame about some of the fickle fans.

Agree with you Schards we are a long way off being a yo-yo club.
Yo-yo clubs are those that fluctuate between the top two levels over the years.
WBA
West Ham
Sheff Wed
Sheff Utd
Wolves
Watford
Bolton
Fulham
Crystal Palace
These are yo-yo clubs and as yet all we have done is get promoted once and be relegated once-I would be more than happy for us to be a yo-yo club but at the moment we are nearer the bottom than the top and we have to win away games if we are to have any chance of even making the play-offs let alone get promoted.
Losing away in The Premiership was understandable but how far and how quickly we have fallen when we have already lost to two mid-table sides and drawn at one that looks a relegation candidate.

The fact is that if the championship plays out like it did last season, then winning the majority of home games and picking up the odd win and draw away will be good enough for the play offs. That doesn't make it right for us to aspire to that, but that is where we might be.

And as you know, if you get in the play offs, anything can happen and all of a sudden, a la Hull, we're back in the premiership.

Hull are currently fourth in the Premiership, Hull are the new Reading.

What I'm trying to say is that all is not lost this season.

hence becoming a yo yo club is progress

Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future

Your post subject sums up whats wrong in football today.......... We've got good youngsters coming through the academy. They'll only get better by playing week in week out. Chopping and changing the team every week won't help either. Sit back, enjoy the games and just see what developes. We may be playing Newcastle in the Championship next season !

One of the advantages of bringing appreciable new blood is that it can lift a "relagated" dressing room, predictably we have not done that, so the faces, attitudes and personalaties are mostly the same as they were during our relegation season last year, when it appeared that we had lost all the team spirit that was such an important part of our previous two years. We haven't done anything or got anybody who seems to be able to up the mood and tempo, especially away from home we seem to be a side just "going through the motions" with no enthusiasm or endeavour.

In stark contrast to Wolves who have a lot of youngsters, momentum and energy etc.
We do seem to be a team drifting at the moment....there does not seem much of a buzz or excitement going on.
A couple of wins will change all that.Best they come sooner rather than later.

Like Wolves fans I have a very long memory.
Wolves were last in The Premiership 5 years ago.

Well, since 2003/4, anyway. I seem to remember a certain play-off run they had.

Schards#2 Hardly. £13 million sold, £1.5 million bought is not a freshening up, it's a firesale.

Do you know what a fire sale is? Obviously not so I'll help you:

fire sale - a sale of assets at very low prices typically when the seller faces bankruptcy

Do you still think it was a fire sale?

When players "turn on a sixpence", there isn't actually a sixpence there.

OK fair enough, but once in about 20 odd years is more of a squashed ping-pong ball than a yo-yo.

There could have been more from further back such as Stoke but the idea was to show that there have been quite a few yo-yo clubs and as yet we are not one of them.
