The Official Rodger's Soundbite Thread

by handbags_harris » 01 Oct 2009 14:16

Insert any references made by Rodgers to:

a) being best mates with Mourinho,
b) world class
c) journey's/paths/different directions
d) any other cringeworthy soundbite made by the man.

I'll start the ball rolling:

"I've been lucky enough to work at three levels; club class, Premier class, and world class"

Somebody much cleverer than me needs to create a bingo card - maybe for the Whiff?

Other choice phrases:-

He's a good man
We've got a strong group
It's a totally new cycle
That shows you the mark of the group/man
You need to show/that takes courage

He's great, is Brendan - a piss-taker's delight maybe, but a good man.

“Life is just a series of peaks and troughs. And you don’t know whether you’re in a trough until you’re climbing out, or on a peak until you’re coming down. And that’s it you know, you never know what’s round the corner. But it’s all good. ‘If you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain.’ Do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she’s just a big pair of tits.”

There's also the Brent Look, eg when he did that excruciating "Noel came up to me today and said 'boss, I scored 18 goals in training today'" followed by the slight tilt of the head and pause that said "impressive eh?". Mucho

"I telephoned Steve to tell him what great players he had left me with."

I bet "Steve" was chuffed with that vote of confidence. I'm sure it made his entire managerial career worthwhile.

Patronising or what?

Every time I hear Rodgers interviews they are always outstanding and world class. That is why I think he will turn out to be our best ever manager - if we give him time.
