Back from the game: QPR v Reading

by Barry the bird boggler » 20 Oct 2009 11:00

Think we can all fill this in now!

Thought we looked good at the start, even had a corner at one point. Then it all drifted away from us once we managed that shot on target.

Thought Kebe might have had a half decent game for once had our "engine room" decided to pass the ball wide

Cummings was hopeless, caught out time and time again by an ageing Stan Bowles who I surprised to hear had re-signed for them.

Federici stood no chance of stopping any of the goals, most of which were defensive schoolboy errors, although I did think there was a glimmer of hope having got to half time goalless.

I see that BR's bumper book of tactics still hasn't stretched to a chapter on making decisions, the pros and cons of changing formations during a game and what to do when your opponents have the ball

Long looked good at times as he looked to make a name for himself at Reading. Then fell over the ball with his big Guiness beer belly and was subbed on 53 minutes.

After taking an early lead and controlling the game, we gave a silly goal away from a set piece and we seemed devoid of ideas after that.

At the end of the day lets face it 4-1 flattered us.

I didn't watch the game, but I have a dislike for several of our players and will slag them off regardless and will not back down on my over-opinionated ramblings despite clearly being in the wrong.

Howard was rubbish, despite setting up one and scoring one. Kebe was awful, despite putting in a mom performance and looking a continuous threat. Federici needs to be replaced asap despite making some key save to keep us in the game. Cummings was shit, despite, err, I've got nothing...

We were rubbish. Rodgers should be sacked and Madjayskee should go. The only positive thing was Kebe was good again.

Really surprising game.

Aliens bringing back Glen Miller and Elvis, taking the Cheeky Girls in return was strange, no accounting for taste.

The second coming was confusing for a devout atheist.

I can't believe Reading won though.

We lose, BR does the decent thing and resigns, saves the club he loves a bundle, which gets used on a new manager and players! Feck, I've swamped the bed with a wet dream again!!!

When asked why he had put out a team of under 15s thereby breaking all known records BR says "They are the only ones left at the club who listen to what I say".
The chairman also spoke "This shows the club's long term aim of investing in our young players who don't get paid so this club will be financially sound for many years to come".
"But",said Tim the radio presenter "the team lost 10-0 and in 3 years' time at this rate we will be commentating on Conference football and nobody will be watching"
"Football at that level can be very entertaining"said the chairman "and we will have the best infrastrucure in that league as we prepare again for a serious attempt at getting back into The Premiership with players all employed on a part-time basis by the football club and part-time working on the Station Hill project where Brendan will also be working full-time on a voluntary basis as he will be working on a thesis (he already has an NVQ) relating to hype in the modern game"

Tim turned to his valium as he realises that his radio station won't pay top dollar if RFC is in the Conference and he too will be part-time.
He actually thumps the chairman.
Within 3 years the chairman buys the radio station as part of his Mad Communications PLC empire.
Tim gets the sack but joins Radio Oxford where the local side is pressing for promotion to The Premiership.
Sorry but that last bit is nonsense-a little club like Oxford (or even Swindon)could never aspire to playing at the top level.

Erm... I do believe they both managed to get to the top flight some years before we did. :|

Howard's through ball and Rasiak's first touch, control and volley from outside the area for his 3rd goal were world class.

We finally went back to basics.

Played 442, two holding mids, played long ball and surprise, surprise got a result....
