Rodgers is still the right man

by rhroyal » 28 Nov 2009 17:19

Today was obviously a limp performance, but anybody who hasn't noticed a BIG improvement since QPR is too blinded by irrationality. Admittedly it would have been hard to get much worse, but we've shown enough since then to at least allow Rodgers until Christmas. I think he'll guide us comfortably to safety this season and next season we'll be looking at the top half. Maybe after that the play-offs.

Shane Long on the other hand.....he has never fulfilled his potential. Showed glimpses under Coppell but never really stepped up. Since Coppell left he's turned into a joke. He's barely a footballer any more. He at least had a good attitude before - now he's putting on weight and costing the team with his anger. I want him out in the January window.

Good to see there's some perspective left on this board.

Good to see that there are some on here who aren't total idiots when it comes to football.

People should also look at Derby's home record before they lose their heads.

Bit worried about the run in to january now. We're weak up front and now completely optionless. Was hoping we would pick up a few points in the next few weeks, but i reckon we may well struggle now. I just hope we don't slide in to the zone again and lose confidence.

Not a good day for us today, but hopefully we'll be alright.

Hulse, Dickov and Teale were always going to be a bit of a handful.

In a game where Kebe was back to his usual self and McAnuff appeared to be in hiding a narrow defeat is not a particularly bad result.

The bonus we can take from this is Long won't be on the pitch for at least another 3 games. Hopefully ever. He really is a total oxf*rd retard.

We are in serious serious trouble. Goals are a huge problem.

We're going down this season. I can't see anything else.

7 goals in the last 5 games. We're in bother, but so are plenty of other teams.

The fact we're back relying on Long says everything. We are weak up front, and we are in TROUBLE. Big trouble. There was loads of time to look at another striker for the loan window, but again it seems all the eggs went into one or two baskets and we pull a 'better luck next time' out the hat again.

floyde_street Don't worry. There'll be three worse teams than us this season.

We still have Church and Rasiak available and Mooney available to recall. This is just about adequate considering that January is not far away. It sounds like we will sign this Icelandic guy to add to our ranks. Maybe 1 extra recruit on top up front would also be useful. In the mean time we've got some easier fixtures coming up and Church and Rasiak aren't doing a bad job at the moment.

Already had the post match analysis

In summary Reading arent' very good

both goals were from our right hand side

Long is a disgrace and hould get a '10 game ban'

Terrible strikers, 2 weeks to get someone, Nope and then cya.

Only Long was terrible everyone else was ok but no stand out performers.

What is it about the fact that there is no more money that some people just don't get? So it's another defeat. Get over it. We have two awkward home games coming up against the one team I want to beat more than any other and one that, strangely, I have never seen us play against!

It makes no difference who the manager is. Wenger and Fergie would struggle with what we have available.
