I don't need a comeback.

Not being able to appeal against a yellow card IMO is corrupt. How can you not appeal against against it when the FA use video evidence to pull people up who DON'T get booked or sent off on a weekly basis? What are their grounds for us as clubs not to be able to appeal decisions which cost us players and points due to their ref's incompetence? When they do exactly the opposite using video evidence for the other side of the argument.

As for you zac, jumping into an argument you aren't part of, thanks for your valued input.

It is called questioning the integrity of the referee. What you have to realise with football is the the referee is God and totally without reproach. The only bunch worse are the complete arseholes who reside within the County FAs. These are the idiots and faceless non-entities who determine the lengths of bans players get for farting in a Sunday League game.

A god is an all seeing entity. Hardly comparable with referee's.

Can't be bothered to start a back from the game thread.

Reading battered City today, should have been 4 or 5. Was a very soft pen, but City had too good shouts that the ref turned down, because he realised how soft the one he gave was.

City defended for 70 mins. Had a few good chances from set plays.

Reading looked like the side gunning for promotion and City the relegations contenders.

Great day if you're a Reading, really shit day if you're a Reading fan and you work for City...

PS Church was stupid. Swore at the lino and got booked after the pen while warming up, then got the 2nd yellow for going into the crowd, then going out and doing it again.

Stupid rule still.

Broxroyal Why doesn't everyone take a look at Church's goal celebration on T.V. later before deciding whether Church or the ref is the idiot?
Lol at everyone guessing at an incident they haven't seen.

Having seen it in the flesh he was always going to get booked for it.

LOL at anyone who wasn't there saying he was stupid though. Football is an emotional game, emotions were high, it was a great moment. In the circumstances he was never going to just calmly shake hands with his team mates.

Understandable reaction, shit rule.

Sounds more like the Patron Saint of refs to me.

If I was jumping into the argument I'd have commented on the argument.

He is stupid because he'd already got himself stupidly booked even before coming onto the pitch. Knowing that, he surely should have had the self-discipline and intelligence to have celebrated without allowing himself to get bundled into the supporters. Could have still displayed all his emotion but stayed on the pitch and available for the Swansea game.

Terminal Boardom Did Church do the same? According to the radio he did not even go past the perimeter advertising. Stupid ref.

The seats are pretty much on top of the advertising hoardings, to be fair.

papereyes Mate on MSN just said it was for swearing at the lino ...

"Mate"? Bit presumptive.

And I was guessing. But he said something to the lino after the penalty, and the ref came over to book him. Sig was also pretty pissed off at the lino after the pen - I think he was saying it should have been retaken because a player was about three foot into the box. Given just how fussy the ref was before it was taken - moving players back two inches to get them behind the line - perhaps they had a point.

He went to the fans got pulled back then did the exact same thing again.

It's a disgraceful rule that goes against all that football is about.

Archie's penalty Papes. Have a lot of work so think I'll skip. Although I may meet up with RB later. No phone with you I'll wager? Oh and well done lads. Great point. Brendan who?

He said he'll be in bed by 9, hugging his Maggie thatcher pillow case. Light-weight.

To be honest, I don't see any difference between today and last week - we play well, dominate, and yet are unable to put away more than one of the many very good chances we create (yet again, Sig was guilty of that). Plus ca change...

Yeah - I was unhappy with it myself. It would be better if FIFA allowed refs to actually use some discretion and common sense. But he was stupid for the first - assuming it wasn't a massive over-reaction, of course.
