Is it officially 9 seconds or 7 or maybe 10. There seem conflicting times.

And SSN claim it's the fastest FA Cup 'proper' goal.

Non-league Ashton United midfielder Gareth Morris notched after only four seconds of a first qualifying round tie against Skelmersdale United in 2001, but Kebe's strike is believed to be the quickest in the FA Cup proper.

Knowing it was stupidly early, I looked up at the scoreboard as the ball crossed the line. It had "44:51" on it, so 9 seconds unless it didn't start at exactly at kick-off.

San Marino v England - that goal was 8 seconds.

If you actually count, it's 7 seconds.

SLAMMED If you actually count, it's 7 seconds.

How?

Like I said, I can't guarantee the game kicked off exactly in sync with the scoreboard, but I fail to see how it could be 7 seconds if the time shown was correct.

I'm sure, if ITV have any semblance of credibility, we will find out tonight exactly how quick the goal was.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_r ... in_England

Scroll down to the FA Cup part...
Final: Fastest goal: 25 seconds, Louis Saha (for Everton v. Chelsea, 2009)
Any round: Fastest goal: 4 seconds, Gareth Morris (for Ashton United v. Skelmersdale United, 17 September 2001)

and for the avoidance of doubt it was 9 seconds

Prior to Kebe's goal, Reading's fastest was 12.96 seconds scored by Mark White against York City on 27th April 1984. Reading lost 1-2.
