Gesturing and swearing at football matches

by Very near...far away » 17 Mar 2010 08:46

It never happened in my day.
The fans clapped and cheered non-stop.
We all loved one another (even though it wasn't the 60s).

Now we all have to be successful first time all the time, "second is nowhere".
The perfectionists from Tilehurst, Whitley and Caversham have their scorecards ready, woe betide you if you fail to be brilliant all the time.
If you step over the line, so many hands will be wrung and there will be so much wailing and gnashing of teeth that the Royal Berks will be overrun with the little bleeders.

I'll hazard a guess there's been more gesturing and swearing from fans than from players over the years ("We pay their wages, arrrrrrrrgggggghhhh!")
Football as we know it may never recover from this shocking, shocking incident.

But I suspect it will.
