Brendan Rodgers. He served with distinction as both player and manager.

Best youth player to break into the first team and play for Reading - Probably one from Adie Williams, Gylfi Siguardsson, Neil Webb.

There have been some good discoveries, non youth.... Kevin Doyle, Shakka Hislop.

Barry the bird boggler At the moment its Neil Webb

"Best" is very subjective. Webb would certainly qualify as most successful.

Scott Taylor was quality in our playoff season. Never really went on as he should have although he spent a few seasons with Leicester City.

Don't think we "missed" Walcott just at the time he chose to go to Southampton as the big Premiership team in the area at the time. And we have his cousin(?) in our Academy at the moment.

Went to my school and can confirm we missed him, failed a trial at Reading first.

If he didn;t perform then not sure why we would have signed him !

Who said he didn't perform?

Any list of other local lads we didn't get to Reading for one reason or another would have to include Hayden Mullins who I thinks been a very decent player.

Webb is pretty easily the one who went on to have the best career. Sanchez would be up there too and Williams pushing them for a mention. It's Webb for me though.
