Reading Ladies

by Starfish » 25 Jun 2010 10:35

I read his morning that Grace Moloney, Stacie Jayne Donnelly, and Harriet Archer Scott, all Reading players, are part of the Irish Ladies U-17s squad that will face Spain in the final of the U-17s European Championships this Saturday. Does being a football fan get more exciting than this?

I see one of the players is from Killala FC. My cousin helped set up Killala FC about 30 years ago. The local GAA put huge pressure on all local landowners to deny him the use of any land and banned him from all GAA facilities. Fortunately, the biggest employer in the area was a Japanese textile factory who gave him access to their facilities.

The early years were an uphill struggle keeping the club alive but this kind of justifies all the effort and determination shown in keeping the club going. Not bad for a small town in Mayo with a population of 400.

Thaumagurist* Do Reading Ladies actually have much to do with the actual Reading FC 1st team?

What is the relevance of the question ?

He's saying it should be on another forum not The Team one. Or something.

Missing the point that it is about The Team. As much as anything about the reserves, or Academy is about the team....

he's done well to keep the performance up for so many years.....

As long as the Under 17's are also Over 16's it's not so much of a problem if they have much to do with the first team. So long as the wives/girlfriends don't find out.

Moloney (goalkeeper) and Donnelly started the game and Scott came on in the second-half. It finished level but the Spanish won on penalties.
