Fans Forum Weds 26th March

by STAR Liaison » 14 Mar 2014 15:03

The next STAR Fans Forum is the Ex-players Forum with Mick Gooding, Adie Williams and possibly AN Other.

Weds 26th March Jazz Café doors open 7.30pm for 8pm start. Admission free - STAR members only. You can join at the door.

Forthcoming Event

The football-based Annual Quiz with a Difference - April 26th - in which 16 teams of 3 players battle out head-to-head fixtures over 15 quick-fire rounds on a league format. There's also a cup element I think. Full, and more precise, details later or enquire at the STAR Base. Open to non-members. Venue = Jazz Café.

Any chance of doing one of these in London at some point?

Worth a thought. I know there are a lot of Reading fans in London but it's a big place and how many do you reckon would turn up? A pub room's full?

I could take some guidance from other supporters clubs with exiles branches in London about numbers they get to their meetings. I could also find out which ex-players besides Richie Bowman are near central London.

What if we could do a joint event with another club to boost numbers - purely as an example and probably a daft one, get Kalifa Cisse along to a session with Bristol City fans and us?

Tell me what kind of thing might be viable - it doesn't have to make money, just not cost too much in terms of cash and embarrassment if very few show up.

Mmm. Gets round the town-location issue - problem is that club facilities / rooms are all busy doing money-earning hospo.

Pop-up fans forum in the West Berks Beer Tent??

starliaison possibly AN Other.
Reminds me of the match reports where A Trialist scores...... Might make fans forums a bit more interesting to read up on if we had to guess the names of the guests.

I reckon we'd be able to fill a room in a pub for sure and as long as that pub serves real ale, you'll be onto a winner.

Really you need to get Stuka on board and I suspect the rest of the gang will follow.

I’ve put a link to this thread on the London Royals thread on Meating Up, so it shouldn’t take too long for him to see it.

Hopefully this can be the start of eventually reloc8ing the whole club to Lonners.
