Volunteering

by Royal Biscuitman » 20 Mar 2014 14:57

Over on Anything Else, a few of us are discussing ways we can volunteer our services to give something back.... particularly those of us with employers who give us a paid day or two off for such causes but have been unable to give our services away for free.

Anyway, I was thinking - Do STAR have any charitable plans which might require some bodies to help out with?

Very kind.

I'll ask.

Does it have to be 'charitable'? STAR isn't a charity so doing things directly for STAR I guess wouldn't count but, as you say, we may have links with our charities.

Get back to you next week.

Sorry it took so long and sorry can't be more helpful but there's nothing on presently that can link to your idea.

In a football context the best person to approach would Dave Evans at the RFC Community Trust.

Thanks starliason, I will find out the rules - I think it has to help others in some way or other.

I know attending PTA meetings counts, so maybe worth mentioning to STAR board members, they might be able to get a day off in lieu for their employers to attend STAR meetings.
