News from Joel at BBC Radio Berkshire

by BBC Radio Berkshire » 05 Oct 2007 21:57

Dear All,

Just a quick note to say that I will be leaving full-time employment with the BBC at the end of October.

Mrs Hufford and I are re-locating.

I will still be covering Reading home matches and away fixtures in the London area in the future, so I will still be a semi-regular in the Royals press pack !

I just want to say its been a real pleasure covering the Royals over the past 8 years and spending a large amount of my time on Hob Nob.

Take care and all the best

Joel

Good luck Joel

Mrs Sidwell and Mrs Hufford will be very happy

seriously, in recent years, the local sports coverage has made "BBC Radio Bluerinse" more appealing to the younger populace of Berkshire....at least on a matchday.

I'd like to thank you for all the good work you've done following the Royals, but I'd particuarly like to thank you for the excellent coverage you've given Reading Speedway the past few years.

Radio Berkshire and yourself have become good friends of the club, but sadly all good things must eventually come to an end.

We've been lucky to have you working with us.

Regards

Andy Povey

Are you leaving on a bosman or is there a transfer fee involved?

What was the real reason for leaving? - Does Tim have a BO problem? Does Ollie constantly disgust you by picking his nose? We demand to know!

Good luck Joel, Remember you don't have to leave hobnob just because your leaving BBC Berks.

Good luck and thanks for bringing Reading matches into our homes, cars and pooters.

At least you wont have to go to games like Swansea away on a shitey evening again

Good luck.

I listened to BBC Berkshire religiously before I had a season ticket, and any away games I listen to I know I can count on you for good analysis and humour!

I'll be sorry to see you leave Joel but at least it sounds like you'll still be getting your fix on local matchdays....

Presumably Timothy becomes 'head honcho' now and Andy will move up from the sportsdesk and text messages to provide the additional commentary support when needed.
