Ringers in Div 4

by BigSCOT » 15 Apr 2010 12:31

Can a team playing in the Reading Sunday League play up to 4 of their Div 3 team in their Div 4 reserve team in an official Div 4 game

We were told by their manager that this was allowed by the league when we played Chalfont Reserves on Tuesday night

As you seem a knowlegable bunch of lads and are fellow royals and have been in this league longer than us I'd be grateful for any comments

Thanks

BigScot

How did that post get in this thread???

I can't remember the exact details of the rule BigScot but there is a limit on the number of players that can drop down. It all depends on how many times they'd played for the team in the higher league.

I have a feeling it's a maximum of 3 that are allowed to drop down, but that might not be right. Someone at your club should have a rule book which will give you the answer you looking for.

Ringers is all part of the game on Sundays though. It might not be fair at times, but you really just have to get over it as it's pretty difficult to prove unless the opposition just admit it.

Tim Dellor helped push Rodgers over the edge.
Firing Rodgers and hiring Brian McDermott saved our season.
Therefore Tim Dellor is the reason we are not going down.
