jonboy29red didnt see them my end of the concourse

That's not surprising really, they're based in the service area next to Y19, and as soon as they come through the door people grab 'em for a beer - doesn't seem to be any instruction for half of them to head up to Y24/25 area which would be a good idea now there's only 1 bar.

paultheroyal Bookies have gone due to personal reasons!! Yeah, probably because of all the abuse they took from punters for the crappiest odds ever offered at a football match.EVER!

Ironically they would have been quids in today as I don't think anybody really predicted a win for Scunthorpe

Illness, actually.

And they only ever offered odds - no-one was forced to accept them if they thought them outrageous.

It was tongue in cheek Dirk, gee whizz, but they offered the odds because they had the monopoly of it within the stadium, and i actually felt embarrassed for them for putting such sh1t odds up on the wall. Shame because part of our pre-match routine was to laugh at what gets put up.

Remember last season, a fan embarrassing the bookmaker by comparing odds via his iphone app account compared to what was being offered in the ground. Did not get much trade that day!

What premium over, say, Betfair, are concourse punters prepared to pay?

Well I know most scorecasts were 20-30 / 1 whereas from a bookie they would be 40-50 /1.

Have you never used that gel before? One small dollop and rub it round your hands and they're dry within 20-30 seconds

You don't mix it with water m8. The whole point is that water isn't required.

But that's the whole point. Hand towels and any form of drying has been replaced by the gels! RFC words, not mine.

Er but you don't wash your hands and then use the gel?????? The whole point of the gel is to wash and dry in one go?

Presumably they left the sinks in because it would cost money to remove them and because some people can have an allergic reaction to alcohol hand gels...

Actually, there are now hand dryers in the ladies that I go in, in East Stand. The one I used said "tested 12/03 - next test due 12/05" unless it was using the 12 or 24 hour clock, I can only presume they havn't been PAT tested for over 5 years. I only saw the hand gel when I was leaving the toilets, as it was on the wall as you leave.

Why wasn't I told they'd be offering hand gel before I renewed my season ticket?

Why wasn't I told there would be no bookmaker in the East Stand before i renewed my season ticket?

What I want to know is why we're spending money on hand gels when we need players. Sack the board. Madejski out.
