2800. Ridiculous. Fair play on the club for the free coach travel though it must be said

It's obviously a very good gesture of the club to give free coach travel, but it's a bit of a shame they've only taken 2800 tickets. I can be fairly confident of not getting one now.
I'd be happy if they did free coach for the first 2800 or whatever out of 5000, as a means to reward people who go more often, but I'm very disappointed I won't be able to go.

southbank1871 But we've only requested 2,800 tickets. What an epic epic fail that is.

That's what I mean, another example of how we have absolute idiots running this club! My Parents have had season tickets more or less since the Royalty Points scheme was introduced, and have 1,500 points. We're all a bit livid here!! :x

This is exactly what needs to be done!

What the hell is going on with both the number of tickets requested and the points banding?

The way it's been done, the Johnny come latelys get an equal chance of free tickets and free transport as someone who has racked up 1599 points over many years!!

All of this could have been avoided by better planning and organisation ahead of time, allowing tickets to have gone on sale today with more points bands.

Yes, a nice gesture with the free coach travel but somewhat tarnished if regular/longstanding supporters miss out due to the ridiculous points banding.

Just seen 2800 is only initial allocation.

Do you need to be a STAR member to use the free coach service laid on by the club to Man City or has this been waived by the club?

Could any other club make such a consistent balls up of things as RFC does?

Free coach travel - FANTASTIC, well done.

2,800 tickets? You idiots. You could flog 5,000 based on free flippin' travel. This is going to be absolute carve up now. All very well saying you can ask for more tickets dependent on demand but you're creating a logistical nightmare given you have a week to sell them.

Luckily for me I am in the 1600 bracket 8)

Can't believe this. Only 2800 tickets is laughable. Notts County took 2000 more two rounds ago.
Well if they get sold out and I can't get any so be it but its piss poor.

They should have released info yesterday and had the first day of sales today. 1600 today, 1200 on Saturday, 800 on Monday, 400 Tuesday, and general sale on Wednesday.

The free transport is great if you live in Reading. For those of us further away its of no value at all. The tickets will sell out rapidly. WTF happens next? Ridiculous.

But why not have the first bracket of tickets on sale tomorrow so that we could actually buy them at the ticket office when attending the game, instead of having to wait until monday and the postman!

Have the club ever run anything for free before?

The trouble with making something absolutely free is that people don't value it the same way. As a consequence they will more than likely end up paying for more coaches than required. People will say they want to travel on the coach (because they have nothing to lose) and then not turn up as they decide to take the car, get a lift with their mate etc.

This said from experience of running free company/social club events, committing to expenditure and then finding people duck out at the last moment! Now we make a charge refundable when people turn up! Still in effect free but cuts out the timewasters.
