What's the best place for parking up there seeing as they try to screw you over on car park pricing by enforcing residential schemes in the surrounding roads.

You can park at the retail park next door, if you spend £25 in one of the shops there and put the receipt in the window. Did this a few years back, bought some booze in Tesco, got ticket validated, happy days. Downside is that there are no decent pubs very close.

'Ricoh Match / Event Parking Policy Copyright Arena Shopping Park 2006On match days and during events at the Ricoh Arena shoppers may park for free for two hours. Customers may extend their free parking beyond two hours if they spend a total of £25 in any retailer on site (not including Petrol Station). Parking tickets must be validated at customer services. A £50 parking fee may be charged for non-compliance with this policy.'

Maguire
Hugo Boss Disagreed. Spent the entire game up there last season in the concourse drinking whilst watching the game on the TV's. Didn't go into the "arena" once. Stewards were good as gold AND the bar carried on serving.

They also didn't kick me out when I fell asleep in the ground the year before.

Exactly - 30 Reading fans stood in the concourse two years ago watching the grand national on the box and happily drinking away during the second half.

Definetely remember that and can't forget last year's second-half session with Hugo and friends, drinking > watching the game

Why go to Coventry away for a ground's concourse and drink over priced beer?

Last time I went to Coventry to watch the game I wished I'd spent it drinking in the concourse. Most boring game ever. At least there'll be inflatables for you this year to double the interest.

If that was the 0-0 game then i wish that my afternoon had been spent watching the game whilst drinking in the concourse. First half i don't remember us registering a shot at goal, Coventry hardly did anything to inspire the game and second half was just as bad, if not worse!

With inflatables this year and the side needing to get back to winning ways leading into the plaayoffs im sure this game will be better!
(it can hardly be much worse can it?!)

Fair enough. I've never seen the attraction of doing it myself especially at the Ricoh. Why not just leave and go to a pub? It could be another nil nil and you've wasted 25 pound again.. :?

That's the football fan's dilemma: what if I leave and something happens?

At least you can stroll back into the stands from the concourse.

Thanks for the idea, if I know anything I'll have to go to Tescos at some point this weekend so this sounds a good way to kill two birds with one stone

Look at me alert..........

Well we'll be parking at the stadium for free courtesy of Coventry City FC, before enjoying the match for free. Then after a free drink in the casino we can check into our free hotel room and enjoy our free breakfast in the morning. The only downside is they didn't include dinner.....

Did that last year. Strolled across to Tesco after the match, did my week's shopping, and by the time I came out the parking attendants had disappeared anyway. Repeat planned for Saturday.
