EPR
Swansea City OS First Great Western are informing fans that all rail services from South Wales scheduled to arrive in London Paddington before 2pm on the day of the game will by dry.

Alcohol cannot be carried onto or purchased on the trains. All return services from Paddington to South Wales starting with the 5.45pm Paddington to Carmarthen until the close of services on this date are also dry trains.

All customers intending to travel on any of these services must not attempt to carry any alcohol on to these services.

This is definitely handy now!

Wizard Isn't that weekday only? Usually train companies run Sunday services on bank holidays, although FGW might have enhanced it for the final, in which case fair play to them.

most rail companies will run a saturday service on bank holidays

 We always run a Sunday service on Southeastern, don't know how we get away with it if that's the case

me neither

South West Trains will run the Saturday service on the Holiday Monday with alterations for engineering work

FGW run a saturday service too

Worth remembering that anyone with an annual travelcard for work can get up to three adults and four kids travelling with them a third off. They can also get their wife/husband/partner a free network railcard, meaning that you can get up to seven adults and eight kids a third off when travelling with the annual season ticket holder.

Reckon I'll go straight in from Cholsers to save the scrum at Reading.

Dry trains, honestly whatever next. Nanny st8 gone too far.

Surely someone could complain to the european court of human rights that they have a right to get drunk whilst travelling on a train?

At least there's notice of them - often there's no advance notification so people turn up for the train with bags of beer that they have to leave behind.

I guess the sensible thing to do for thirsy Swans fans would be to change at Bristol.

And Readingensians should be able to go 25 minutes without a drink - no gr8 shakes I guess but it's the principle.

They have BTP walking up and down the train.

Is it generally strictly enforced when they do this kind of thing then? No issue for me anyway as I'll be coming from South Lonners.

Very strictly enforced - people who refuse to comply have been arrested and the train has made an extra stop so they can be met by a van.

Also, for the Swansea trains, they have BTP at the platform barriers so everyone is searched for alcohol as they arrive. Not so easy at 'Ding where it's not a terminal, though.

If you put in 3 or 4 adults instead of just the one...then the magic happens...and no you don't need a railcard. Although as TROLI pointed out yesterday...National Rail will probably remove the groupsave on selected routes ie Reading to Paddington etc...for BH Monday...

It asks if you want to include a travelcard...or put in Reading to Wembley Stadium...it then gives you rail to paddington, tube to marylebone and train to wembley stadium

I suggest we pre-book tickets using groupsave..........then you've paid the money and got your tickets, so if they remove it you dont miss out
