A33 after the game.

Definitely only a matter of time before someone gets killed crossing the A33 when mongdiv Reading fans cross the road way after they shouldn't. If you do know somebody who is run over and killed, then pleased no sympathy threads on here please. It's their own fault.

Too true. There was a serious pedestrian/car contact there a couple of seasons ago. It seems that all common sense and road sense goes out of the window as people rush for the car parks. It is bad enough at the bottom of the hill where a mass flow of bodies over the roundabout causes clashes between pedestrians and cars leaving the Costco end on the area. At least in that bit most car drivers are aware of the mass of fans leaving the stadium. Once you hit the A33 you are at the mercy of fast moving cars who are leaving the town centre.

I blame the players and Brian. If there was something worth staying to the end to watch, a greater mass of people would be moving together at the final whistle. Saftey in numbers and all that.

The real idiots are the planners at RBC. Their anti-car fascists wanted people to travel to the stadium by foot. So what do they do? Fail to provide a bridge or subway to get those pedestrians across a dual carriage way, build ridiculously narrow pavements along that same dual carriage way and top it off with some poorly laid out pedestrian crossings.

^ this. Quite a few of the "new-build" stadiums have subways so a massive fail on RBC's part IMO.

A bridge or subway is a good idea. However it would improve the flow of traffic, and RBC can't have that. They will wait until somebody is killed by crossing the road too late and blame the motorist for it.

ALOL - I picture Tony Page rubbing his hands with glee.

Thing is - they've got no excuses too as the road was built AFTER the stadium was opened.

lol at people telling other people the best way to cross roads.

oxf*rd off drivers. if you are so daft that you think that imediately post footy match is a good time to drive past the stadium, then youll have to deal with a large number of pedestrians, some of whom will walk where they damn well please.

As I walk away from the stadium after games I curse the car drivers who threaten to run pedestrians down in their eagerness to leave the stadium car parks.

Once in my car, I curse the pedestrians who play 'chicken' whilst trying to cross the A33!!

Summed up beautifully - everyone thinks they are the most important person in the world and that they have priority over everyone else.

Don't worry. The more the team fails to perform, the fewer people will turn up. Therefore, problem solved.

You could always leave early and avoid all the congestion when getting back to a Public House.

The main congestion occurred well before the end of the Watford game!

Always been a problem nothing will happen.

Sort out a walk way from the east stand to the costco roundabout so the fans don't have to walk all around the stadium - £50,000 was quoted in 1999 when I ask the club about this, how much would it cost now?

You think that's bad you should have seen the irate fan trying to open the gate outside the North East corner after Saturday's game!
