Yeovil Away

by bobby1413 » 18 Jul 2013 01:59

Just found out that my duties have been changed in work so I can go to this game!

Looking at trains, and it seems that any station you end up in, you need to get a taxi or other transport to the ground. It's about £25 for two singles - not too bad.

Leave Reading 1104, arrive Yeovil 1316. Think that may be the best option.

Anyone else in for this game?

Will be very close to the Yeovil area on the Friday for other reasons, so will be staying in Yeovil on Friday night before Saturday's game.
Will file a scout report of the town pre-match.

Yes. Cheaper to go to Yeovil Junction. Long walks from both stations. Huge weatherspoons in the centre I believe.

You must be really looking forward to this season LWJ?

How many tickets do you think Reading will be allocated for this?

I used to live about 300 m from Huish Park. The OP is right in saying that both Yeovil stations are a ride away. The easiest to get to by train is Yeovil Junction but that is the longest taxi/bus ride away, it is well outside the town, isolated in the countryside. Yeovil Pen Mill is less well served by trains but is in the town. My advice is go on the Basingstoke to Yeovil route and either bus or taxi in. Alternatively drive down the 303 and .......

The is very limited car parking around the ground. They are already talking about another new stadium so that they can meet the required standards for infrastructure etc but I won't be ready for our visit  .

From the Football League Grounds Guide web site.

http://www.footballgroundguide.com/yeovil_town/index.htm

Away fans are situated in the Copse Road open terrace at one end of the ground where up to 1,750 supporters can be housed in this area. Additionally 300 seats are allocated to away fans in the Screwfix Community Stand, which is covered.
