Accounts

by Elm Park » 28 Jan 2014 10:31

I see that the latest financial accounts have been filed for last year and we made a loss of only £2.3m

The main figures I have seen are:

Turnover £59.2m (up from £14.7m)
Wages £46.1m (up from £26.5m)
Loss £ 2.3m ( down from £11.7m)

How was the purchase of the training ground at Bearwood factored into the accounts - is it a lump sum this year or is staggered?

If it's all this year I'd imagine that would change things quite a bit.

I'm pretty certain last time we got relegated the wage bill was around the £33-35m mark.

More surprisingly to me was the previous year's £26.5m wage bill which is to my rather dodgy memory double what the 106 team's was.

So effectively in two seasons we lost 14m despite a successful promotion campaign and a year of Premiership money.

No wonder Anton shit himself.

wages 46.1  that cant be right can it? 20 grand a week is 1 mill a year that would mean we have as an average 46 players in our squad on 20 grand a week. now obviously we have players on more and some on less but how many players do we have on more that 20 grand a week? cant be more that what 10 at the most? Lots and lots of people have been shot down on here when it was rumored pog was on 60 grand a week, people were saying it was more like 30 and he has to be one our highest earners. I just don't believe 46.1 mill on wages is correct

No disrespect Wooders but I suspect it's your fag packet maths that's incorrect rather than the audited accounts.

There's probably a few huge figures in there which distort the average.

I would imagine £20K per week would have been the minimum salary for 20 or so players.

From what I recall hearing certain 1st team players were given significant increases to ~ £30K per week. Federici and McAnuff I recall hearing significant wage increases about.
It would be no surprise if most of our signings were given between £25 - 30K. i.e. Guthrie, Gunter, Mapps, Kelly, Carrico.
Sounds like Pog was on more than £30K a week.

Obviously, when a team gets promoted a significant number of players will automatically get a wage increase due to a 'promotion clause' in the contract. But when the team gets relegated a 'relegation clause' is also typical.

Likely, the majority of our players will be on less than they were last year.

Does that figure include signing on fees, etc?

I have no insider knowledge as to what the figures include. As regards the wages don't forget that the backroom staff probably got bonuses from promotion and the staff numbers probably increased due to the increased activity in the promotion year.

It is starting to look like we know where a lot of the money has gone.

And now the accounts I assume do not include the Hotel section.

Brady got a £1mill pay increase at West Ham, any guesses to what we paid non playing executive type people?

Directors Remuneration was £517k, and a management fee of £300k was paid to TSI.

Worth remembering that the loss in these accounts was probably covered by the profit on player sales just after 30th June - proceeds £3.5m; don't know how much had to be offset against that, depends on how much they cost and how long was left on their contract.

428 staff altogether, including Matchday bods - the actual wages paid are £40m (rest is NI etc.)

I'd guess at £34m being players' wages and yes, I assume the number would include any signing on fees paid to players.

£3m+ addition to Fixed Assets - I assume this would be Bearwood? Doesn't have an impact on the Profit & Loss a/c (bar a small amount of Depreciation).

53k a week, although some still wont believe Anton was that mental, and a pad in Kensington on top!
