So, the Club have decided to open this up to the masses (thankfully.) The music played at the stadium is usually pretty unimaginative and well-worn, so to at least have 'something' chosen by us, well, some of us, is nice.



What did you choose?

I like the Royals Anthem for nostalgia, and the fact that it's actually about RFC. I like Ashes as it reminds me of the 106 season. I like Sweet Caroline cos people might actually sing it. Toughie.

Very pleased about this as when they did the fans' survey last season I said we need Sweet Caroline as an anthem & they obviously took notice

Just can't not understand people wanting Sweet Caroline.

For me this will always bring up memories of 05/06. That would be fine, had the song been adopted from that point. But it wasn't.

Last season vs Burnley on the last game I LOVED hearing Ashes.

I would prefer a song to sing a long to, so will have a think. But definitely not voting for SC

Hearing a song & liking it does not equate to a good football tune to sing along to though Bobby that's the issue. Sweet Caroline is the only one of the 3 that has any chance of sticking IMO which is kind of the point...

Personally I think it's good because it's quite light hearted & a bit of a giggle. I do reckon once people get used to it, they'd actually start to quite like it & it would catch on.

Oxford definition of 'anthem' is:
A rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause

You'll notice, MmmMonsterMunch, that the definition is not: "quite light hearted & a bit of a giggle".

Ashes is rousing/uplifting. It is 'anthemic'.
Sweet Caroline is not.
