Amazing Support

by loyalroyaldaz » 08 Oct 2016 16:25

Hi all
You may or may not know but my Son was the lad who passed away last Saturday.
Reading FC ran a tribute to him on their website and i just wanted you to know that whatever happens on the field you support an amazing club.
The support that gave Jamie and us his family over the last 6 months has been tremendous and very touching and continues to be.

I saw this on twitter - so sad, but really liked the fact that the club publicised it, 28 is such a young age. Wish you and the rest of the family the best

Sorry to hear of you loss. RIP.

With all the focus on what happens on the pitch, it's reassuring to know that quietly behind the scenes at the club there beats a compassionate heart.

Sincerest condolences to you and your family, Daz. I am sure that Jamie would be pleased to see the club and all Reading fans as one at this sad time.

Thanks to all.
I saw on the facebook page that some guys were planning a minutes applause in min 28 at the Villa game.
This would be a huge gesture in honour of Jamie.
We have 4 season tickets including his and his Mum will be taking that over. If the above happens then she will be there next to me to see and hear it as well as Jamie's Sister.

You guys have no idea what the club has done for us but suffice to say they not win Trophies but they definately win Hearts.

Just saw this article on it - http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... e-12042088

Planned applause for 28th minute according to some on twitter - if that's the case then count me in.

That article is a very heart warming read, lovely of the club to provide a room and food for the wake, and also that they had some contact throughout events.

I was at Reading Cemetery on the Tuesday for a different funeral, but saw everyone there in their Reading shirts (I assume it was you!). It was such a lovely thing to see.

It was us yes. We have sat in Y25 since the stadium was built. Reading FC was his main love and we even had Sweet Caroline playing during the service...

The Club have been tremendous to us from his diagnosis and to this day. We cannot thank them enough for the support they gave Jamie and us.

It was very moving last night. I thought that maybe with the death of the Thai King, it wouldn't be done. The Thai King silence before the game was more a mark of respect to the owners, and was done well. There were a couple of Villa fans who tried to ruin it, but the sound of other Villa fans saying Shush was louder.
The minute's applause was more personal. Most of us didn't know the lad, but we could all relate to it. Again, credit to the Villa fans who joined in the applause.
Football can be a great game!!
