Tony Le Mesmer Why should we serve a minutes silence just because a football match is about to start?
What happened on 9/11 has absolutely nothing to do with football.

It's not a minutes silence for each person that died on 911!

It's false. False respect is worse than no respect IMHO. Most stay silent because they feel obliged to and out of fear of being verbally and possibly physically abused for choosing not to pause for thought at that precise moment in time. During a minutes silence for a cause they don't care about I suspect many are busy thinking about whether to have a chicken balti pie or a hotdog at half time or sending a text to their mates. The vast majority of us have shown respect and have moved on, we may choose to spend some time thinking about 9/11 and may even choose to show respect but on our own terms.Mrs ButlerTony Le Mesmer Why should we serve a minutes silence just because a football match is about to start?

Legend There is no need for a minute silence at the game tomorrow, absolutely not. There is no relevance to the event tomorrow to warrent a minutes silence.
