Anyone know what the record league attendance is for a Reading home game? If it's less than 30,000 that could be another record to go soon. I know the overall record is 33,000 but I think that was in the 1927 FA Cup run.

Platypuss
alad To give some perspective of the size of the South and North when completed both would hold in the region 8,000. That is alot for a single tier stand. The Kop at Anfield only holds 4,000 more and is the most famous single tier stand in the world.

When that gets knocked down in a few years time the North and South stands would be the largest single tier ends at any ground in the country.

I hope they get renamed because having them called the 'North' and 'South' stands will do them an injustice.

It's definitely worth noting that the finished height at the East Stand mid-point will be almost twice as high as it is now!

I still can't imagine it. This is all a dream and I'll wake up soon only to find we're playing Saafend infront of 15,000 next week.

Indeed. The overall record being 33,042 for the cup game against Brentford in 1927.

This is quite a good link for such things:

If any one is in the construction / landscape field then there is some seriously nerdy but informative documents submitted as part of the planning application on RBC's website.

I know it's sad but i've copied them onto my PC to allow me to look at existing plans of the Mad Stad once the expansion is complete and we've instantly forgotten the 'old' stadium!!!

There's 62 document submitted in total!

Remember, that's only an artist's impression. It won't neccessarily look like that.

Are you sure about that, Spacey? These look a little more than just artist impressions, hence the detail and the materials key to explain what goes where etc.
This should be the finished article.

As with anything, but nothing so major that what you see will change much at all.

It's only that the original Madejski Stadium looked different to what it looked like in the plans that were printed in the Chronicle back in 1996-7. Wasn't there supposed to be a canopy extension to the roof? The supporting poles on each corner of the stadium were supposed to be taller and similar to Bolton's Reebok Stadium.

I don't like the way they've replaced my season ticket seat with a hospitality section.

Not happy with these plans, my East Stand seat has disappeared and been replaced by a row of executive boxes

Y22-Y24 rows X to about CC will go.
