6.5M Profit!!!!!!!!

by sawyers left arm » 27 Nov 2007 21:52

Had the accounts through today and we made a net profit of 6.5 million. More interesting was the turnover went from 17.7 million to 49 million, amazing what a year in the premiership does!!!!!!

Unsurprising tbh. Net spend of about £600,000.

Accounting is a wonderful thing. If they couldn't find a way to write off that 6.5 million, we must have done really well.

ONly 6.5 million with the huge hike in ticket prices, the mediocre wage bill (for the prem) and around £30 TV money out of nowhere.

How so low?

Presumably this doesn't take into account Mr Mad's loan

I would guess it tells you how massive even 'mediocre' wages are at this level....

If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times the best way to make money in this division is to buy lower division players and flog them at a profit to Sunderland reserves.

I think Mr M taking back alot of his loan is a more likely reason

Any breakdown included in the figures? Would be interesting to see figures for wages, repaid loans etc broken out from the headline figures.

Is the profit figure after tax?

They won't need to hide the 6.5m as it can be written off against previous losses.

What period does it cover?

Surely a club shouldn't make any money and all profit should be returned to the club, whether it be in playing staff, stadium expansion ...

Presumably planning the stadium improvements and also heavy improvements made at the training complex took a bit of the income...

Are you sure that's all we got in the way of TV money?
