Bristol city student tickets

by Jobbo no.11 » 01 Dec 2009 17:40

Not sure if this is the right board but there ya go.

Just a quick question planning on going to the bristol city away game but when going to buy the student (17 -21) ticket(like usual) it says nus card needed on the gate. The thing is i am a student currently on a gap year and dont actually have a NUS card.

Just wondering if they actually check or if proof of age will do as well.

Thanks

Why not ring up Bristol City ticket office to find out?

If you are on a gap year, are you technically a student?

They won't check..just say you paid for the ticket at Reading FC with your NUS card and you brought the wrong wallet. Works every time.

No, as far as I'm aware.

I've deffered the final module of an MA which I can finish at any point up till the summer and I don't qualify as a student.

As far as I'm aware you need to be actively enrolled on a course or as a full member of the NUS to qualify.

That being said, I'm sure you can blag it, or use any old student card

I live 8 miles from Ashton Gate and one of my sons goes there regularly. He says that mostly they dont check but sometimes they do ask for his NUS card. Every now and then they apparently have a blitz and decide to check all concessions. His advice is do what he does and borrow a mates.

As far as I'm aware as long as you have a University library card or something you'll be fine, particularly since you now have to pay to get an NUS extra card... If you aren't actually at University and you are just in the year between school and Uni this obviously wouldn't work. Using a mate's may be tricky as they all have photos on them now, the best bet would probably just to say you used in when you bought it and didn't bring it with you.

or except that student tickets are sold to benefit those who are actively involved in higher education.
