Used to be the thing to do on Boxing day, way back they were much better attended, wake up, men sent to football while the women did what women did.

Give me a break man, I'm only 28, and I've lived in Cambridge for the last 4 or 5 years. Hard to make it to the game and back when it's 80 miles each way and you can't drive.

TBf it took a good 5 minutes of shouting and arm waving before you got any takers last time.

mind you, it used to always be a local derby, which always helped the crowds.

Go back to the 60s or so, and they used to play on christmas day as well as boxing day.

Aye, but those were the days when the majority of a team's support used to be able to walk to the ground.

Is there a chance this game won't go ahead due to health and safety? Only I don't fancy walking up that slope if it's as icy as the roads and pavements are at the moment.

I say get the game on. If the pitch is playable then play. IF supporters can't make it - tough luck.

Parked at the park and ride today; all the main roads around the stadium are pretty clear of snow, but the road leading up to the overflow car park behind the dome and the main car parks are totally covered in a mixture of snow and sheet ice. It's very slippery under foot also only the bus layby side of Northern Way has been partially cleared but B&Q side hasn't so at this moment its covered in sheet ice also most of the footpaths leading to the stadium are in the same state. Hopefully the thaw will clear most of it before Boxing Day.

'greed

The pitch is fine. Clear of snow and we have underground heating.
