If Rooney was any good he could comfortably be on 10+ goals this qualifying campaign.
Instead he's been woeful.

Shocking tactics from Woy.

brighton_royal Why is this stinking fanny woman still picking Rooney?

Depressing all round.

Stinking?!

Yeah, I have it in my head that Roy's clopper stinks.

Oh I see!
Makes perfect sense now

bcubed I am wondering quite how bad Rooney will have to play to be subbed?

Apparently Roy was about to take him off and he scored!

Or was he?
He now says Rooney wasn't coming off!

Ian Royal The problem is, half the country and press think he's World Class, so Woy would get slaughtered for dropping him. And he's made the overrated moron captain too, making it twice as hard to do.

And whilst Sturridge is out there isn't really much in the way of other decent options. We've had a dearth of striking talent since Owen and Shearer played together.

he is World Class. Third World Class that is.

Sterling asked to be rested because he was tired.

Sterling has gone off the boil completely since the first couple of weeks of the season. Ball was bouncing off his feet in Basel, and he did nothing against San Marino when he should have been running rings around them.

Hopefully it's not an attitude problem. Rodgers has managed him and his expectations fairly well, it seemed, but maybe his head is getting turned by Chelsea/Madrid/Barca already.

Rooney is typical of the England story, he'll be one of the all time top scorers, if not the top scorer for his country when he retires at international level.

Trouble is, the biggest disappointment is that he simply doesn't score enough goals in tournaments when it matters. Decent but not really quite good enough to trouble the very best - much the same as the International set up he plays for. I think he knows this and so do the England staff including Hodgson - frustrating as it is.

You could just do without the commentators & some other media stooges keep pushing their golden boy Rooney stuff, it gets embarrassing when they fail to see the obvious and keep trotting out 'we still believe' type content about him.

Agreed on Rooney. He's about as good now as he was when he scored a hat-trick on his CL debut when still in his teens.

That he is on £300k a week is staggering.

Decent point from Wales on Friday against a strong Bosnian side, another big game against Cyprus tonight. All to play for in this group.

What was most disappointing for me was the awful quality of Rooney's passing.

I'd like to own up to feeling very jealous of Swansea once again tonight. He really is the most talented player I've seen in Royal hoops (too young for Friday) and I want him to come home!

Finished 2-0 to Iceland. Besides the complete and utter dreamboatness of Gylfi have been very impressed with Bodvarsson and Bjarnason
