I find that hard to believe tbh. Yeah it was a great goal, but I would still back most strikers (especially those playing at international level) to put it in from where he was and where the keeper was. Does xG even take into consideration where the keeper is?

I did as well, but that is what xGPhilosophy estimated it at...

One of the examples of why xG is just a slightly better shit methodology than all the others rather than the holy grail truth engine so many make it out to be.

My understanding of xG is that it's simply an indicator of how shit (or otherwise) your finishing is - and that's it

Finland have to score first in games if they want to win them, they look so devoid of ideas and slow chasing this one against Russia.

Thought it was a really promising first 20 minutes - chances for both teams and then turned extremely scrappy after that - neither team played particularly well

Apart from Belgium - does seem a fairly weak group although it’s obviously hard to gauge the strength of Denmark given what happened

After Denmark were made to play on following Eriksen's collapse, you'd think UEFA would pull their socks up a bit - but alarming that, whatever the protocols in place, France's Pavard was allowed to play on last night after being as good as knocked out. Football needs to protect its players more.

There's no way Pavard should've been allowed to play on straight away, definitely looked like he was out cold for a few seconds and that should be enough for the medics to stop him carrying on.

was reminded on a podcast this morning, VAR has hardly been talked about at all so far (they have introduced a dedicated offside VAR person to speed up the check time) , and the refs have been a very decent standard. seen almost no red cards too.

I was under the impression that the Welsh were good at singing. Their team just exposed that as a massive lie.

I think they've been instructed to not jump to VAR at the slightest opportunity.

I presume we have the cream of European officials at the tournanent so they can be trusted to make a half decent decision 95% of the time

Bale still has it. He really does. Three wonderful passes to Ramsey.

He seems to be better now he drops deeper. That was a ball of utter class. His passing range is phenomenal.

I thought the protocol was any sign of concussion and you get auto hooked.

Do like Wales’ attack, strong mixture of everything with the pace of James and the height of Moore, with the obvious ones of Bale and Ramsey too

Not convinced by their midfield two, especially Allen but they’re doing OK so far, Wales will win the game if they carry on playing like that (and if Turkey don’t improve)

Is it just me, or does the Euro 2020 logo look like a surprised frog? Especially when it's used as a quick screen wipe.
