Zip Others can comment on the England performance.I thought Scotland were terrific. They had an excellent shape, were tenacious and knocked the ball around well. Steve Clarke got his selection and formation spot on.

Scotland did much much better than I expected.

It's been a disappointing day of football, none of the matches have been captivating. Hope for better tomorrow.

I predicted a miserable 1 0 to England to anybody that would listen today, England failed on that, well done to the Bock Jastards...did a job, and did it well.

C’mon Wales....I am probably more Welsh than Zipearcey....given the amount of time spent there recently.....

2nd round of games can be like that, teams more worried about screwing up or just getting a point if they won their first game.

All in all, result is fine for both. England likely through already with chance to win the group. Scotland go into the Croatia game knowing a win could take them through too.

They need to score a goal of course first.

That was like watching Jaap Stam's second season.

Can anyone explain why Foden, literally the only one showing movement or taking someone on with a degree of skill, got hooked instead of any of the other England midfield or forwards who were all absolute pish.

Kane looks like he's nowhere near match fitness - slow, ponderous and barely involved
Sterling looks like he's barely played any football recently - lots of terrible touches
Rice, Phillips and James looked like they had some sort of pavlovian condition to always pass sideways or backwards. The only thing Phillips sent forward was occasionally himself, never the ball.
I forgot Mount was playing.

And none of it improved when Grealish and Rashford came on. Because all of those players kept doing exactly the same.

Yep - was thinking just that, was reminiscent of Stam’s last year (minus a couple of dodgy goals given away)

Don’t think Foden was great and I thought Mount did OK (relatively speaking anyway) but others should have been off first

Mistake bringing White in instead of Ward Prowse now - hindsight and all that but plenty of opportunities for decent set pieces tonight and they all miserably failed

The only one pleased about that England performance will be Daniel Levy, nobody will be putting a big bid in for Kane if thats the best he can do at the moment. Got away with carrying him against Croatia but not tonight, gave the midfield absolutely nothing to work off. Don't think I'd be starting him against czech rep.

Smith supports the Fake Hoops.

The irony with Big Country is that none of them were born in Scotland.

URZZZZ Phillips has no business being in this England team - utterly useless - don’t let one decent game on Sunday cloud over his usual performances for England. Sterling was an abomination. How those two both survived the 90 is beyond me

Kane never seems to do it in an England shirt in the major competitions, miles too static and the service to him is so poor. Rashford was as bad

Pretty much what I came on to post.

Won’t bother now.

The foul on Sterling would definitely have been a VAR penalty in the PL.

Buck stops with Southgate - he is picking the wrong players. Foden hadn’t been great but he was far far better than the utterly hopeless Sterling who takes up some great positions and then tries to run through defenders only to get dispossessed almost every bloody time.

It’s such a shame that our “great” young players rarely improve. Sterling and Rashford are getting worse with every year that passes.

I’ll cling on to the hope that we haven’t peaked too early and things.... can only get betterrrr.

Weirder than this, Leon?

Having said that, Dunfermline are my Scottish team purely because of Stuart Adamson.
