Asian Cup

by stealthpapes » 14 Jan 2019 12:09

Expanded this year to take in 24 teams. There are 46 teams in the Asian confederation and that's before someone decides to play so many ineligible players they get the boot (looking at you, Timor-Leste, but another three or four countries got reprimanded or booted. Nonsense).

Its easier to work out who didn't qualify.

Anyway, think a fewer lesser lights of world football may get out of the groups and the quarter finals onwards should be fun.

Just don't quite get why a final tournament needs to be over half the teams that could enter.

So they can sell the tv rights in more countries at a premium of course.

PS Iran, play to the whistle chaps.
