Maybe they've gone about it the wrong way, but I think the reasonable question posed is, why boycott just this one?

Mainly because of the essentially slave labour used to build the infrastructure and the blood in the foundations from deaths as a result.

It's the final straw really.

But why not boycott Brazil then? Where they used slave labour and caused many deaths whilst building stadiums which now are empty and had made thousands of people homeless

Russia, S Africa...possibly Japan & S Korea etc etc

Ian is as miserable as they come, he won’t change his mind, just don’t bother trying.

(although my opinions are ‘dead to him’) I’m actually impressed with his stance....nothing much to disagree with there...so fair play.

But, given the circumstances....maybe, England v Qatar in the finals (lol)...I reckon even he’d be taking a sneaky peek.

We all know he'll watch it. Not a dig at him but I can guarantee he will and he will post about it or watch highlights.

Let it go DD

He’d rather not engage....understandably, given his earlier comments....which are also credible (if not totally believably true)...he’ll sneak-a-peek :?

Which is admirable. Im not saying it isn't.

But then boycott the Olympics due to the comments about disabled people and the holocaust.

Don't wear clothes made with child labour or sweat shops.

Don't eat Nestle or use Apple.

He may already do that so fair oxf*rd.

No idea what aboutism means but I already said fair play for his stance before but why only boycotting it now and not everything else that's worse

I haven't watched the Olympics, but not for any reason other than I'm not really interested. One old guy making inappopriate comments equating to systemic modern slavery :|

I buy very little from Nestle and it was nothing at all for quite a few years... I believe the recommendation on boycotting them is their coffee, and I don't drink coffee.

I haven't bought anything from Apple, though that's mainly because I don't want to be an iTwat.

You don't know me dd.

NathStPaul Got to laugh at anyone saying they'll boycott the World Cup. Empty words. You'll be watching it and you know it.

I'm afraid I won't.....even if Wales go. I just won't be interested. I stopped off in Qatar a few years ago, its a repressive/sexist/homophobic/dictorial state that p*ssed on the integrity of sport when they bribed their way to getting the competition. FIFA weren't much bette. The fat swede was thrown to the lions to save the organisation and their own arses.
It's odd when you leave that country that all the Qutarian women rush to the bog on the plane when leaving and put on western clothes and makeup and take off their traditional repressive dress. Now why is that?

Sorry but I'm just not interested.

Gutted that away fans aren't allowed in for Hungary or Poland. Had a great trip planned for that :x

FIFA have written to the UKG requesting exemptions from quarantine for players due to play in red list countries following the move by the PL and EFL refusing to sanction their release.

Given a large percentage of players are apparently not vaccinated, would be a very dangerous precedent if they cave.

Ridiculous isn't he. Beginning to think the money United are spending on his transfer and wages will look like a bargain in a few months time.

And out of nowhere too. The only sides that they have beaten in the last two years are New Zealand and Andorra.
