the media need to dial down the "Bellingham is/will become the best midfielder in the world" stuff pretty quickly. It will do him no favours.

Yes, he has been great this tournament, very pleased.

Have to say that I think Japan are one of the most impressive teams of the tournament especially given their ranking (24) compared to the teams they’ve had to play (Germany 11, Spain 7 and Croatia 12) how they lost to Costa Rica god only knows but I suppose it keeps their feet on the ground. Going to be a top 20 seed after this tournament surely.

Might be Brazil next for them.

Love to see England playing friendlies against these sorts of sides rather than having to play in the stupid nations league against all the same old boring countries.

It’s the big fear of concacaf countries, well mostly USA and Mexico. Our nations league sucks because we don’t have that much competition. If USA Mexico and Canada are automatic World Cup spots, we probably going to try somehow play “competitive” friendlies against better nations.

Ascotexgunner
Zip Where are all of the Southgate moaners?

Exactly. Where are they? Three weeks ago he was the most unpopular man in the country.

Nothing to moan about. Southgate is achieving what is expected with England, think any decent manager would have done the same thus far. He got brickbats rightly for the cr@p way the team played v the US and he’ll get them again if he doesn’t get the approach right for the France game and the performance stinks. The issue with him from previous tournaments is adopting an overly safety first approach in certain games which I hope will be different this time round.

Seemed mega harsh pen to me

Certainly harsh that kicking a ball and someone nipping in front of you, running away from goal, results in a goal. Hey ho I guess we trust VAR
