Winston Biscuit I see Chelsea gave the worlds most expensive goalkeeper a run out today to see if he can get his way back into the team

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/55787974

oh....

don't think that's a mistake...he can't see the ball or player as the defender is right in front of him

I'm assuming this is a joke.

.

Are you gonna take that Brobot?

Lampard spent more than £200m on seven major signings last summer, including £45m on Leicester's Ben Chilwell and £71m on midfielder Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

£71m

He has looked poor this season, but I do think he will come good, but that price is very high. Think Werner will come good as well.

These aren't bad players at all, just adapting to the new league.

Agreed they'll come good, but under a different manager who knows what he is doing.

Agreed, as I have seen mentioned elsewhere, looks like it might be Tuchel coming in, who might a better fit.

Apparently there’s a clause in the contracts of every Chelsea manager that if they don’t beat Leicester away - they’re going to be fired

That’s now three of the last four managers (Mourinho, Sarri and now Lampard) who have all been sacked after having Leicester away as a last league game

Really enjoyed Jorginho and Kovacic’s performance for Chelsea tonight in the middle of the park. Moved into space so effectively and always moving the ball on quickly

Always thought Jorginho was a quality player vicitimised initially by Chelsea supporters for being the same nationality as the manager (sound familiar with Joey here )

Is he still a Chelsea player? That's mad.

Edit - no, he's not. Has just joined Braga, good for him. 27 years old and wasted a lot of his 'growth years' on different loans.

Matt Miazga on the same path, currently on loan at Anderlecht, his fourth loan club in five years.

Had forgotten about Miazga.
I wonder if we would go back in for him if we were promoted.

I'd be tempted, tbh. Although with the emergence of TMc and Holmes, I don't think it is absolutely necessary.

Premier League is a big step up though but if they continue to develop further (which they need to) over the next 3 months or so at the same rate as they have done so far this season then they might well be up to it.

I want to be as positive, but I think they'd both get eaten alive by the physicality of Premier League strikers.

Reckon Holmes may be OK, as he seems a bit quicker and stronger

Would fear for Morrison if we did go up, have a feeling he’d become Gorkss II

Have to admit that I tended to think Lampard was doing okay at Chelsea - but the transformation under Tuchel has been outstanding.

I think he is only 6 games in, which I always had down as 'bounce' territory. I think 10+ games is when that moves to 'transformation'

Winston Biscuit I think he is only 6 games in, which I always had down as 'bounce' territory. I think 10+ games is when that moves to 'transformation'

And the 6 games for Tuchel are :
Wolves (on a crap run and 0-0)
Burnley (not exactly top half material)
Tottenham (he can have that one, even though Maureen set up to only lose marginally)
Sheff Utd (I've worked down the table and I did find them eventually)
Barnsley (apparently they're not in the same division)
Newcastle (on a massive winning run of ... oh)

FL's last six included defeats to the current top two
A draw against Villa (definitely top half and probably on a better run than Wolves)
Fulham (a bit like beating Sheff Utd)
Morecambe (OK, I'll accept that one)
Luton (not a great deal different to beating Barnsley)

So , in summary, the big issue was losing to a team that have won, is it, 15 in a row and at Leicester who are clearly no mugs

Have I missed anything ?
So no, I don't think there's a transformation - I'd have been surprised if the results wouldn't have been the same under Lampard
