Another valuable point for Chelsea. Edging closer to the 40 point safety mark.

They were lucky too....some rather random decisions from Mr Dean......not least just before the Chelsea pen, when Modric was clattered on the edge of the Chelsea box!! Chelsea went up the other end and got a pen! Mind you Frwank's face was a picture when Drogba stole the penalty off him......and then when Drogba missed!!

Not to put a damper on this thread, but after this catastrophic run of results Chelsea are, what, a whole point off first place?

To be fair to Chelsea, that was a good point away at Spurs; also, Chelsea were the better team in the 2nd half - Spurs' first corner came in the 84th minute.

Bluntly, this season the PL is, for the first time in ages, genuinely competitive and interesting.

i think spurs will consider it a lucky point won rather than three thrown away..chelsea on balance perhaps deserved the spoils..but yes..most open pl season to date so far....

see Plastic's post above, plus you need to look at the lead they've thrown away.

If United win tonight, plus next week against Chelsea (two big 'ifs' obviously), then they'd be six points ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand at Blackpool.

However, based on the season so far, it's not likely to be that straightforward...

and Chelsea could carry on like this for a while yet before they get back to winning ways. they're on a downward trend which needs to be halted sharpish.

Yes - but we're not 6 points off a relegation place.

Didn't watch the game m8?

I think the stats back up we were the dominant team against Spurs. A better result than we've had their the last few seasons.

Finishing 4th (or.. gasp... 5th!) would be a far bigger failure for Chelsea than finishing 16th would be for Reading.
