Probably true. Considering what I've just seen from my office window in Swindon.

Serves the twat right, why does he think he can abuse people in the street and not get a response back.

“I’m a big Oxford fan, and they are most bitter rivals, so of course I was going to say something.

“I wasn’t being aggressive, just singing typical football songs like ‘Swindon scum’. There were a few of us chanting.

“There were no racist slurs at all. Stuff like that is disgusting and something we would never do.

“The players must have expected to have got a reaction if they were all at a restaurant in Oxford United’s territory.”

"...of course I was going to say something"
Why "of course"?
It's not just Oxford United fans who might do this (it could be fans of any club in England) and why can't they save chanting about Swindon scum till matchday which they will be able to do twice next season?

Mr Richards, of Corn Street, Witney, said he had been drinking in the Eagle Vaults pub when he saw the players, who had stopped for something to eat ahead of Saturday’s match in Huddersfield.

They didn't get very far from Swindon on the way to Huddersfield did they? :|

My ex used to live in Witney - was a strange place, so not sure why they wanted to go for a meal there.

it's quite up-and-coming now actually; a lot of people who can't find houses in Oxford are moving there. got a swish new Debenhams, slightly Cotswoldy feel etc

Isn't it suddenly very fashionable because of who the MP is- I think I read somewhere recently that couple of Fleet St editors and a Murdoch or two live there.
