Reminiscent of a Reading relegation of the late 70's (?) where we needed to win and Exter lose to stay up, we won and the tannoy announced Exeter were losing resulting in pitch invasion related mahem, followed by an announcement that Exeter got a late equaliser and it finished 1-1

And, yes QPR are as good as promoted but you just can't celebrate it like when it's a mathematical certainty can you?

Wasn't it Wrexham? Our win relegated them at the same time. And, iirc, the Newport v Exeter match kicked off 15 minutes later at 3.15. Again, iirc, Newport always kicked off at that time.

I think it was Wrexham they went down with us. Dixon scored the goal down the Tilehust end. From memory they didn't anounce what had hapened at Exeter, everyone had found out themselves and just drifted away.
