Barry the bird boggler
Uke Blolackburn sack Henning Berg

Source?

Reported in the Indian Mail, Sporting Intelligence (a Rovers fan) on Twitter also claiming it's the case.

EDIT: Now confirmed by the club

What a joke of a club

A new manager needs a couple of seasons to work with a team

Blackburn Rovers FC has announced the departure of manager Henning Berg, assistant manager Eric Black, first team coach Iain Brunskill and goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms with immediate effect.

This decision has been taken following a very disappointing sequence of results.

The club thanks the four men for their efforts and wishes them every success for the future.

^ strangely-worded. Although Mimms had it coming for his abortion of a performance in the 86 cup final.

Blackburn were third when Steve Keane was sacked. At least the fans got there wish in the end.

TBM Di Matteo getting the Forest job

Is there a source for this or was it a throwaway comment? He was rumoured to be in line for the AC Milan job recently, very much doubt he'd ever consider going to Forest. But I guess if the owners are rich...?

I think he will go to Forest. I doubt a team like AC Milan would take on a manager with little managerial experience at the top level, and none outside of England

Well to be fair Allegri had barely any either, in fact Di matteo has more experience currently as a winner of the FA Cup and Champions League (as well as promotion with West Brom) than Allegri ever did at Cagliari. Considering they are lingering around mid table I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up there.

Interesting to note that the favourite for next Forest manager is Alex McLeish at 1/4 on Sky Bet - they will be asking for trouble if they appoint him!

Difference being Allergi had managed in the Italian top flight prior to Milan calling, Di Matteo hasn't. Bar the odd scenario (Mourinho, Enrique in recent times) Italian clubs only hire coaches who have actually coached in Italy

Just seen on bbc. Hilarious appointment, I'd be seriously pissed off if I was a Forest fan. Get rid of one good manager for another who plays terrible football and was on the verge of getting not one, but two Brum clubs relegated...

I just had to do a double take... McLeish???

But then again, I did laugh when they appointed Pardew at Newcastle...

Surprising appointment but I think he'll do well there. Bit of a Sam Allardyce / West Ham situation...

And as if sacking Henning Berg and the whole of the Blackburn coaching staff after 57 days wasn't mad enough, the Venky's gift that keeps on giving has come up with another pearl.......

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... cking.html

To clarify, its not the fact that the guy is Indian that makes this proof that Venky's have lost the plot, but the guys coaching background - basically, he has taken the badges but has never coached at any level bar U15.

This is getting near Mel Brooks comedy level now, I can't see how they expect the players to have any sort of respect for comical Ali, they might even end up getting relegated now. Poor Henning Berg. He loved Blackburn so much he was willing to take a job he himself had said would be madness to take on with those owners, and he paid the price.

Whilst I agree this is an utter shambles, and these owners are exactly what is wrong with the game with their ongoing interference, I can't help but laugh a little at the sorry Blackburn fans who viciously hounded out Steve Keen. He was never the right choice there, and the sacking of Allardyce was a ridiculous decision (especially when they claimed they wanted a top replacement), but their actions were over the top, and it will have had played a key part in their sides relegation last season. A little part of me would quite enjoy a back-to-back relegation this season.

Victor Meldrew Pardew out?

Possible as i read that Pards would only be entitled to the equivalent of just one years pay if he was dismissed.

How does that work? He's only months into a 8 year contract. No manager signs a long-term contract agreeing to a cheap pay-off if he's sacked. He may as well be a rolling 1 year contract if that's the case.
