Old Man Andrews Gus Poyet 1/10 for the Sunderland job.

Interesting, what were the Sunderland fans' reactions to him the first time around?

Same as every other manager they've had - very happy while he was winning ...

For sure, I had to double check what time that was going to start, should be a half decent watch with the new track and Russell in the Merc. But lets not de-rail the thread....

Short term fix - which I guess if that’s their aim, makes some sense

From what I can gather, they’ve been debating this call for a while (some “high” up wanted him gone earlier, others were calling for him to be given more time)

But the defeat to Newcastle was the final straw and he was only given yesterday game to give them more time to look for a replacement, as I guess they felt the team were on a hiding to nothing at City

It is a very unjust sacking in comparison to what they gave him in terms of a transfer fee. IMO managers who are sacked after giving a club proven success should be able to sue for unfair dismissal.

I'll give Sheffield United some credit on this, they could very easily have sacked Wilder by now, I think most clubs in their situation would have already pulled the trigger.
