The Gylfi thread.

I'd love it if we re-signed Gylfi because he is absolute class. £6m is more than SJM era Royals would spend but if we're promoted to the Premiership this season I'm hoping TSI might be willing to sign it off.

If there's really that much interest in him why are they looking to sell him for a loss?

It wont be a loss though, as he hasn't played enough games for them to activate the add-ons in the deal.

More importantly, would Gylfi want to come back?

Maybe, still seems overly cheap though. If he doesn't come back here though it would be pretty cool to see him playing for Juventus or Inter.

Just a stab in the dark, but if there are add-ons, clauses and all the usual stuff you'd expect to find they might just let him come back to us for whatever the up-front fee was plus any clauses paid out. If we put a sell on clause in there that's work in our favour too.....

£6m to everyone else might be £3-4m to us.....

Gylfi would come back if we wanted him and were in the Premier League.

Who knows it might be something we could structure at this level.. we just don't know. I doubt he would want to drop a level, especially when he is doing so well in the Premiership, but we can dream.

TBM do we have a sell on clause?

Yes, a significant one

I like to think of it as a discount rather than a sell-on clause though

Does Reading honestly have a hope, with the other clubs that are reported to be sniffing around?

I would love to think that he would come back because he loves the place dearly, and his bum buddy is still around, but I cannot see it happening. Premier League next year or not.

Wont happen. If Swansea had any sense they would snap him up now. It's no brainer he will be worth double that in a year.

Let's hope we get promoted then, because I can see him choosing to come to us over any of the other clubs, so long as TSI do actually take-over and do actually put their hands in their pocket.

Not sure why he'd want to come back to the club that so cruelly forced him out of the place he so dearly loved.

If we beat someone to his signing it isn't really a discount, because we prevent ourselves receiving the sell-on fee , effectively it could be seen as a loss.
