Di Canio vs McDermott

by TBM » 18 Apr 2012 10:45

Not word for word but something along the lines of:

McDermott "its not about next season, who we will sign - its about now, the players here tonight, they deserve it and i will let them enjoy it"

Di Canio "I would have changed the whole team if i could. I was aware of the habit here last season which i thought i had got rid of but some players went out after the Plymouth game, drunk too much and stayed out late. There is one player i will never be able to accept in this team again. After promotion is gained i plan to change the whole fabric of the club"

I like Di Canio. He's passionate, he's not abusive or telling people to break legs or stuff like that. He wants his team to be the best they can be and by the sounds of it they were out on the gas when they shouldn't have been.

You wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him that's for sure.

A wop Roy Keane basically. Will do okay throwing his weight around in the lower leagues where players losing appearance money and fines actually mean something. Will come unstuck when he gets the whu job

I'll bet you £100 they don't go down? (If they aren't in the Premier League next season)

lol - another gem from Di Canio (that kinda refers to how McD has handled the Federici situation)

Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio says he will not play goalkeeper Wes Foderingham again until he apologises to fans for the "arrogance" he showed in the 4-1 loss at Preston.

The 21-year-old was substituted on 21 minutes after his error led to Akpo Sodje's opener.

Brilliant, just hope we don't end up loaning McCarthy there, he could destroy his confidence

Doubt it, McCarthy is proven at Championship level with Ipswich and Leeds.

He has done a great job at Swindon no question. My problem is it all seems about Di Canio not the players, they never seem to get a mention whenever they are on the news it's all about him.
