Did consider B Silva as well, but I would just put him on the cusp.

In a world best squad out of all the current players about now, only KDB would

Sanguine I'm taking a pretty wide view of world-class, i.e. not the dull 'would they get into a world XI'.
Aguero, De Bruyne, Sterling, Mahrez, Laporte, Ederson would get into most or all first teams in the PL.
Additionally, I don't think any club would turn down a reasonable chance to sign Foden, Gundogan, Mendy or Silva. And Dias looks a pretty solid signing.

In short, 6, plus others who are pretty much as good as any alternatives.

Mahrez just flip-flops from unplayable to unwatchable. Personally, don’t see him as world class - more of a poor man’s Jimmy Kebe

Would rather see foden in their team over him

Aymeric Laporte has never played international football outside of under 21's

At 26 years old he had had enough of waiting for a France call up and has reportedly agreed to play for Spain instead

I'm so utterly indifferent to Man City winning the title it's actually kind of alarming

Mad that he is uncapped. Centre-back isn't a strength for Spain at the moment, with Ramos surely nearing retirement, and even Laporte's backup at City, Eric Garcia, getting caps.

Varane & Kimpembe/Upamecano appear to be first choice centrebacks pairing. I can understand why Laporte isn't in the starting XI for France as those are top class defenders, but Kurt Zouma was in their last squad and Laporte wasn't!

Interesting article from Guillem Balague on how Guardiola changed things at Man City this season.
