Victor Meldrew So that's one game every 5 or 6 weeks?
It's only just up the road from you isn't it?
I would have thought that you would at least be going to every home game but hey plastics aren't just at Reading.

How many Liverpool games you been to this season?

A lot harder to get to Liverpool from the South Coast than it is to get from Reading to Chelsea tbf.

Doesn't matter. If you chose to support a team hundreds of miles from where you live you can hardly complain about the distance.

Only in Kes's world do people actually "choose" which team to support.

For everyone in the real world your team choice is a given - by where you live, who your family supported, or other factors outside your direct control.

Yep, but isn't that just "TV support", which is quite different to "match-going support".

All kids do something like that - changes of teams are not unusual before the age of about 13 or so. But after that the club you support tends to stick with you for life.

Unless you're a shallow, mindless glory-hunter, of course ... oh, or Kes.

See my old man grew up watching Brentford, he even went on to play for them in the 60's.........but at around 30 [years old] he moved down to Reading and started watching us play - he got himself a season ticket and has been going ever since. He now classes himself as a Reading fan, knows everything about them - still looks out for Brentford but ask him to name their starting XI and he'll struggle.

^ yeah I think there are a number of people with shifting loyalties much the same as that.

My Dad has followed/supported Villa, Saints and Reading - friends, family and geographic location being a much stronger attachment for him than any 'feeling' for a club

Got taken to see Chelsea when I was about 8 and supported them ever since. It's as simple as that.

No Fixed Abode AND?

We got 4,000 more and our fans come from all over Surrey.

Maybe the City fans who travelled to Spain last week and then had another game on Sunday just couldn't afford it whereas for those in the affluent south money may not be a consideration.
Out of interest why do you never go to games?.

:?:

Also just got my ticket for the Norwich game next week.

Next week? We're not playing them until 10th November m9.
