Anyone familiar with Ray Hudson, the token British voice commentating/squealing on Yank sports telly? Unbearably bad, always over complicating his descriptions to appeal to the mongdivs watching.

I quite enjoyed that, in an Alan Partridge sort of way.

Gary "leg breaker" Neville has lost his pundit mojo since failing at Valencia.

Still the best pundit imo. Even yesterday when he said that Saints defender should be off for that tackle and having seen a couple of replays he changed his mind. Majority of pundits just stick to their first opinion even though the replay proves them wrong.

Bloody hell. Danny Murphy's commentary tonight has been shocking. Condescending and patronising to Huddersfield, constantly making and laughing at his jokes, and then gives MOTM to a midfielder in a team that lost 5-1

I quite like it that he gave it to a player from the losing side.
On Sunday I thought Gabbiadini was a cert for the award having scored 3 goal from open play but whoever was giving the ward gave it to Ibrahimovic who scored just 2 goals, one of which from a free kickthe keeper really should have saved.
Having said all that I do feel that having a man of the match is a bit daft as a concept-something that has crept into our sport over the years and is unnecessary.

Gabbiadini was subbed off with 10 mins left and then 'BIG NAME' player scores the winner...

That's fine if it's a narrow loss and the winner plays the full match. But they lost 5-1 and he came off at 67 minutes...

Mild spin-off not really enough for a separate thread:

What are your favourite bits of commentary :?:

Must say I loved Rob Hawthorne for Shane Long's winner against Germany.

mrs leon is working with Mark Pougatch tonight. I'm trying to get her to tell him we call him Mark Poohatch. But I don't think she will.

She used to work with Andy Townsend and she never told him we called him cunt either.

Thought Frank Lampard was knowledgeable and articulate on MNF for Chelsea v West Ham. Seems to have a career in media if he wants it
