Sanguine Yep - Daniel Podence out until end of Feb too.

Short-termism in football. I hate it. Wolves won't go down. Nuno has been brilliant for the club. They only came up three seasons ago, which is hard to believe, and they have spent just seven of the last 40 years in the top flight. And some Wolves fans want him out because they haven't won in six games. It's not like they are getting marmelised either - Liverpool the only side to beat them by more than a goal since September.

Agree, they won't go down, but believe the unhappiness from Wolves fans with Nuno is far more deep-rooted than just the last 6 games. Recall he's very unpopular with the local journalists too.

I hope that fan didn't throw his "You've let us down again" banner away.

Newcastle look good for the drop, although might be saved by the shiteness of the teams below them.

Accrington are in 9th, 9 points off the top but have 3 games in hand on the teams at the top.

They play Hull tonight and their next game after that is Hull next week

Couple of points on this - first, it's a silly sending off, he is clearly showing the ref what happened. This one is nearly as silly as the guy who got a red card at the weekend for inadvertently knocking the referee's yellow card out of his grip when he waved his hand in frustration.

Separately, yes I do understand that in football you just 'don't put your hands on an official'. Probably a good rule, just seems bizarre to then apparently be fine with players screaming all sorts of abuse at them.

Man City Vs Villa at 6pm. Has the feeling of a great fixture that one

Where does Grealish sit in the Grealish-Maddison-Foden-Mount axis?

Was a good game. You talking about England Winst? Given Southgate will probably go with a 4-2-1-3 formation, I suspect his #10 would be Mount, with Foden and Grealish on the bench. Maddison may miss out, despite his improvement in recent games. Comes across quite well post-match too IMO.

Something very ominous about City. They are playing well without being spectacular, and even where they don't get an early goal, like against Villa last night, they don't look like not winning. And what a signing Ruben Dias appears to be. Just one goal conceded in their last 10 games, and of course five of the 13 goals they've conceded this season came in one weird afternoon against Leicester. They look like the team to beat again - and have WBA and Sheff Utd next.

Fulham were very good again last night. But this is the problem for clubs at the bottom end - playing well and getting zero reward against the bigger sides, and then dropping points against their rivals for relegation. Fulham have taken one point from their last three games - against Spurs, Chelsea and United, yet are probably playing as well as they have all season. They've got Brighton, WBA and Sheff Utd in their next six, and really need to win two or three of those.

As keepers have scored from goal kicks before, have to assume that Cheltenham have a particularly long pitch.

Not seen it but I'd assume it's as likely to be down to what part of the penalty area they kicked it from. In theory , although I appreciate its highly unlikely he kicked it from his own goal line, there's 18 yards to play with

It was a goal kick, so only six yards to play with, but yeah the theory is right. In this case though, was taken maybe three to four inches inside the six yard line.
