A bit :| at this from the BBC.

I mean, yes they can but I just think it is a bit pointless.

I am not sure Reading being in the Europa League could make me care about the competition. I would rather have the Cup Winners cup back and have all the games as a straight knockout, makes all the games that much more important.

I don't mind it tbf, yo do get some entertaining games and it is good for a watch on a Thursday night when there isn't anything really going on.

If Reading ever got into it, I'd be wanting to go to every game, home and away.

Just think there are far too many teams in the thing. The fact Champions League teams get to waltz into it after the group stages really irritates me too.

Agreed that there are a lot of teams, but it gives good exposure to smaller teams and I enjoy seeing the grounds they play at etc...

48 in the group stage isn't too many but they only have that amount to allow the 8 teams from the CL to drop down. I would prefer it if there were 64 teams at the group stage and then just have the top 2 in each group qualify and have it as a totally separate entity from the CL.

Celtic Vs Lazio has something of a 'tasty' feel to it

Hold on.

Why do Celtic get to go into the Europa League for losing to another team that get in to the Europa League for losing?

Give me Linfield over them anytime

Malmö will play a Europa League away match that is closer than any of their away matches in the Swedish league.

I like that fact

VAR continuing to be a farce, no surprises there although in its defence, it hasn’t been as slow as I originally anticipated in the Premier League

Not a good night for English sides tonight. Have no idea why Klopp persists with Milner and Henderson in midfield, especially when they also have Shaqiri, Keita, Lallana, Chamberlain and Wijnaldum in reserve. They’re both too similar and Henderson is clearly better than Milner

Ross Barkley also continuing to disappoint, few controversies over penalty taker in that one

Klopp has won the Champions League, thats not his focus and if you asked him he would probably welcome going out of the competition after the group stages. They desperately want to win the league this season and the less distractions they have the better.
