Barca are 5/2 to win tonight. I've hardly watched any European football this season, are Bayern really that much better than them atm?

Nope and in recent years Bayern have choked in the Champions League. I want them to win tonight but I can see Barca pulling one out of the bag. They have a bit to prove after their poor domestic season.

Sold. They're actually 12/5 with B365, so will have a few quid on that.

With Ronaldo's Juve out of the way it does have a 'Messi dragging Barca to an unlikely CL victory' feel about it.

I think the thing going for Bayern is that Lewandowski is in quite sensational form and I am not convinced about Barca's defence.

Interesting* comments from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about the future of the Champions League - he accepts the need to add some variety and spice to the latter stages, not least since (in his words) the group stages are generally settled after four or five matches. Apparently this year's setup, with a 'mini tournament' of one-off knockout games is a format being considered, and Rummenigge himself admits, even being on the board at Bayern, that two-legged ties suit the bigger clubs. We've already seen Leipzig beat Atletico, and Atalanta come so close against PSG - maybe this is the future.

....quite the spectacle so far and Lewandowski hasn't got one yet :o
- just the usual gripe about the whining tedious inane background noise ( and I mean Fletch & Macca) perilously close to out-blithering Talksh!te's Matterface for droning out simplistic, 'stating the bleedin' obvious as startling insight. Not sure I could put up with Darke's contributions either - so may just opt for mute or v low.
Oddly enough the HT studio contribution is not that bad - in spite of 'Ol Linaker' getting his goals out of order.

NB Did actually agree with one thing McEnema came out with - it is a bit like the BRA v GER WC S-F.....

All the years of dominance are coming to an end now. Got a feeling messi will be gone in the next few years.

Only scored one......f*cking useless. I'd drop him

On a serious note Thomas Muller is so underrated in world football. Best box to box player in the world.
The guy just holds a whole team together.

Barca incredibly weak once again. The last three times they’ve been knocked out this competition, they lost 8-2 tonight, lost a 3 goal lead against Liverpool and a 3 goal lead against Roma. Messi just doesn’t seem cut out as the leader of the team

On the game, can’t knock Bayern who were simply superb but Barca’s insistence on inviting pressure by going short around the back was beyond naive. Semedo put in perhaps one of the worst professional football displays at this stage of the competition I’ve seen before

In a way, I reckon if we’d have been promoted under Stam, the sort of performance Barca put out tonight wouldn’t be too dissimilar to how we’d have fared (I.e too arrogant to adapt)
