Winston Biscuit If Derby lose this then Derby Vs Shef Wed next week is a relegation play off game

Except that if SW win and Rotherham win ...

What are people's preferred outcomes for the last day of the season? (and subsequent events)

For me (and probably most tbf) would like to see Derby and Wednesday down - don't mind Derby but they've been here for too many seasons now - Wednesday because they think they're some form of giants. Probably Swansea up from the PO's because we can't beat them!

L1 is a bit more difficult - none of Lincoln, Blackpool (unless you can guarantee a date) or Sunderland are particularly attractive. Would like Charlton to go up but looking unlikely for them to hit the top 6 now

Big bunfight for the playoffs in L2 too, always had a soft spot for Newport so would like to see them up - L2 definitely the most at stake for this weekend!

Preferences:

Barnsley play off winner
Derby & Wednesday down

Oxford play off winner

Tranny play off winner

3 x 2nd tier play offs in a row before gradually dropping down the leagues and going non league. I feel like the footballing gods owe Tranmere one

Would agree but I prefer new blood - believe Tranmere were in L1 last season

Won’t find many people on a Reading forum wanting Oxford up!

I never understand football fans wanting their rivals to get relegated (or not promoted). Surely you want to play your rivals and beat them?!

Agreed Winst.

'Hahahahahaha Swindon went down LOL!!£&^£&^"^&*!!!!'.

Erm, yeah, great. We've not had even a local-ish derby for a billion years.

Would agree with the above, local rivalries are what football is all about. When was the last time we had either Swindon or Oxford in the same division as us? Got to be getting on for 15 years?

Would be 01/02 season when we got promoted from Div 2? Nearly 20 years ago.

Blimey, guess it says more about Swindon, Aldershot and Oxford than it does us. I guess geographically Wycombe are very much a local rival but they are so inoffensive as a club I end up wanting them to do well.

In League 1, I hope Lincoln go up via play-offs. As a previous resident of the city, I like to keep an eye out for their results and I'd be keen for a return to the city to watch the game (it will 100% be on a Tuesday night if they do get promoted, just to piss me off).

Any club that sound an air raid siren when they win a corner is ok with me, would be happy to see them come up. They do a lot of the local area in terms of student engagement and youth football too, proper community club.

If Derby go down and potentially win on the opening day of next season, do you think they will bring back the "you're only here for the Champions" chant that went so well for them the last time that happened...

Or have their fans matured a bit since then?

Horrible club, horrible ground, horrible fans

Rotherham did just about enough to keep it interesting going into the final day. They've got a better GD than Derby, so Derby and Sheff Wed both need to go for the win (assuming Rotherham beat Cardiff, which they almost definitely won't).

Brentford really have lucked out when it comes to promotion, haven't they?

This one had passed me by - final day of the 2012/13 season, with Brentford (needing a win to go up) hosting Doncaster (needing just a draw for the same) in a promotion battle. It's 0-0, in the 94th minute, and the referee awards Brentford a penalty....

And this will never get old. The story of Jimmy Glass, the goalkeeper whose goal kept Carlisle in the football league. A couple of bits I'd not realised, watching that video - one that Glass was a loan keeper (from Swindon) playing only his third match for the club and a bit of a journeyman player, and two that Nigel Pearson was Carlisle manager at the time.

Love the end of season dramas like the ones above!

Would have been an intriguing PO final if we got there against Brentford - someone could finally break their hoodoo

The Watford v Leicester one is oxf*rd brilliant. Leicester got exactly what they deserved as well after that cheating prick Knockaert dived for their penalty.

It is a shame a lot of the drama has been taken away tis season, a lot has been sorted out already. Obviously we can all get behind Rotherham on Saturday and hope Derby lose to Wednesday, League 1 playoff picture has a bit of drama to it and the League 2 automatic places are still up for grabs but that is about it.
