Should Manchester United dump Van Nistelrooy?

by soggy biscuit » 26 Jun 2006 11:39

Not needed towards the end of the season and now no longer good enough for the national team. Is it time Manchester United tried to get back what they can for Van Nistelrooy in order to bring in someone with that extra bit of quality to help keep them within touching distance of Chelsea?

I thought sir Alex had already gave the impression he wasn't wanted any more.

He snubbed the fans (which alex ferguson hates) and also pissed him off. Think that alex ferguson has the ruthlessness to cut him off and get another striker in. Plus RUUUUUUUUUUD has not been performing for a while now, not like his earlier days.

Personally I find it amazing this Ruud 'decline'. He was still getting goals and doing ok and he'll still get goals in any side he plays in. His game is all about the service, when he was up front with Beckham on the right it was a great combination. He knew exactly when Beckham would cross the ball and that the delivery would be excellent. Ronaldo for all his tricks doesn't do the same or as well.

Van Nistelrooy is still one of the best in the world for out and out goal getting and I would always want him in my side.

Has the horse still not scored for Man Utd from outside the box? Even Alan Partridge here could score a hat full if he goal hanged with all the chances United create. Get rid, over rated!!!

In Van Basten's opinion, and Kuyt was pretty woeful. Ruud will score another 20+ goals next season if he stays at United

You don’t suddenly become a bad player overnight. I think the recent goings on at United has ruined his confidence and a move elsewhere would probably be good for him. Although, when he did play in the World Cup Holland remained unbeaten…….

In Van Basten's opinion

His opinion is fairly important considering he is the manager

Dirk Kuyt is sh1te. Surely van Nistelrooy was a better bet than Mr Kiss-Curl?

Ruud got 20 league goals last season, second only to Henry. Not bad considering he rarely started after January. He's not a bad player, he'll always be the same. United's style has changed and he doesn't really fit in.

As for his exclusion from the Holland starting line up, he got 1 goal in 3 games, playing with two of the most selfish wingers in the world who shoot cut in and shoot more times than they pass. The fact Holland lost the game against Portugal says it all.

21 goals in 35 league games (7 as sub) this season. He was, is and will continue to be a fabulous player for some time to come.

Van Nistelrooy was a £19m signing from PSV Eindhoven in 2001 and has scored 150 goals in 218 appearances.

united will be lucky to get £4m for him.another waste of money.
