Platypuss
RoyalChicagoFC Greenacre levels for visiting Tranmere on 90', and it ends 1-all at the Lib.

Swans' season max now 107 with 11 to play, and nothing less than perfection would do to match or surpass RFC 2005/6.

I think Northampton have safely put Swansea to bed today.

Indeedio, and not without Swans' help (pen, OG).

Finishes 4-2 to Northampton, and Swansea's season max now 104 with 10 games remaining and a clogged fixture list staring 'em in the face. Even doing a century looms increasingly less likely.

So that'll wrap it for another year, folks. I shall look forward to the third week of next November, which is about the time that the annual points-record jitters begin in earnest, and we'll count it down all over again.

No doubt Frimmers will spout off about the "garrison boys" still being able to get 111 points

Hardly a Footbll League record if they do it though, is it and I'd be surprised if it was a non league record either.

I know this isn't a league record, but I see now with 3 games left the Shots could match our total of 107 points. Even if it isn't a league record, I still hope they don't do it.

Anyone know what the non-league points total record is btw?

they could get 107 tbf

Halifax (a)
Weymouth (h)
Rushden (a)

2 teams fighting for their lives, they may take the foot off the gas now they are definitely up, but those are favourable fixtures at first glance.

D'oh! I keep getting the points mixed up with the frequency! They should change to Reading 106 FM damn it.

No mention of the fact that Aldershot's draw with Halifax on Saturday means they can't beat our points record either?

I know it's the Conference, so we'd still hold the FL record, but it's nice to know they'll not be able to even unofficially claim to have beaten it.

little seems to be made of the point that the reading"record" applies only since the award of three points for a win. many other sides "bettered" the points achieved from points possible under the two for a win system.back in the days of real football:)

I'm sure you'll be able to name three of these many sides, Frimmers.

Darlo and Spurs were at the top of that group I think, but I'm not sure I'd like to say they got the equivalent of more than us. I think it got even more complicated with less games being played at one stage...

Pretty sure Doncaster would come out top. Got 72 points in a 42 game season in the 40's. 33 wins and 6 draws.

That would be 105 points. Yes, I know 4 games short of our total games... Who says they would have won or drawn them all?

they'd have only needed to draw half of them though.

It's still a what if, might have been regardless. Looks like Frimmers is wrong and we win even with points conversions.

Frimmer's many comes down to one who equalled us. Lincoln City 1975-76 achieved 74 points in a 46-game season, from 32 wins and 10 draws, converting, in the 3 points system to...106 points! Fourth division, so not as impressive as our record, but still pretty phenomenal in its own right. Managed by a young little-known but up-and-coming manager, one Graham Taylor.

my job was done. all that "worry" can now be put to rest. or can it? energy expended by fgs: next to nil. angst exercised by others:middling to intense. result.

Frimmers you were wrong, as virtually everyone knew and no one gives a stuff that one club, converting a different points system managed to get what would probably equate to the same points as our record.
